SCIPIO, Millard County — Three people were injured in a head-on collision on I-15 in Millard County on Wednesday.
About 6 miles south of Scipio about 7:30 p.m., a Tesla was reported to be driving recklessly and driving north in the southbound lanes, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden said. The Tesla sideswiped a semitrailer then collided into an SUV, which rolled off the side of the road.
The Tesla driver and two of the SUV occupants were transported to a hospital in “serious to critical” conditions, Roden said.
Southbound traffic is being diverted off the freeway at Exit 178 near Holden onto the frontage road to avoid the crash scene. The area is anticipated to be closed until about midnight.
